The owners desired an inspiring interior feeling to their established running store’s new downtown Chico, California location. From the sidewalk entrance, the colorfully lit shoe wall shows off the latest foot apparel. A life-size mural of New York City Marathoners running on the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge conceals the changing rooms. Murals were used for athletic inspiration, and a soft palette of natural colors was selected to reflect the seasonal colors of the nearby popular running trails of the city’s historic Bidwell Park.
