Angela Prater Design has over 30+ years’ experience designing inspiring, award-winning commercial and residential interiors. We provide interior architectural design for office spaces, healthcare facilities (medical and dental), hospitality, and fine residential projects for our clients. We are known for our exceptional design and meticulous attention to detail. We do not have a signature style — we are guided by the inspiration we get from our client’s philosophies, goals, preferences, as well as the project’s architectural context.

Angela Prater graduated from the University of Oregon in Interior Architecture, and is NCIDQ certified, having passed the rigorous 3-day commercial interiors exam from the Council for Interior Design Qualifications. We design your entire project from beginning to end - from design concept and design development (including all product selections and specifications), through complete construction documents.

We strive to create highly functional, exceptional, and inspiring interior environments for our clients, so that all occupants have the most positive experience working or residing within that space. We listen to our client’s wishes and needs, and design a space that feels naturally “theirs”. When construction is complete, and our clients move into their new home or business, we want them to feel grateful we were on their team.

Process

Our design process starts with listening to our client’s needs and goals, assessing their current programming and site issues, and planning for future growth, while considering any architectural or site limitations. We honor our client’s budgetary constraints, and then strive to produce an exceptional, inspiring design within those limits. We guide our clients through the entire design process, meeting at important points every step of the way to discuss and review all design elements.

After we complete the permit and construction drawings, we assist our clients through the bidding process to select the best contractor for their project. Throughout construction, we work seamlessly with the general contractor to address any site issues that may arise, for a smooth construction process.

Upon construction completion, we oversee the furniture and art installation for our clients, if needed. Our clients can be assured that we will be on their side, guiding them throughout the entire design and construction process, so they achieve a beautiful new home or business.

Location

We are located in the beautiful Victorian seaport of Port Townsend, Washington - within the stunning Olympic Peninsula. Although most of our clients are in the Pacific Northwest, we have designed projects in Washington, Oregon, California, Colorado, Kansas, and Vancouver, B.C.
